Lauren is 1!

You may have noticed this little cutie on my blog a few times. Well, Lauren is now one! I love my 1 year baby sessions because I get to see these sweet kids grow up - and man, does it go fast. Instead of a typical 1 year session, I was invited to attend Lauren's birthday party and document that. They held the party at Regal Cinemas and had a Disney movie theme - it was adorable! Lauren received all the Disney movies she'll need for quite some time. It was such a sweet party and a great way to end our first year together :) (Although I hope not all our time together!)

This was not an easy to picture to get....

Jonas & Lili are expecting!

In less than a month, Jonas and Lili will be greeting the arrival of their two precious girls! Yes - TWO! Lili is expecting twins, and well, you'd never know it for how tiny she is. Yes, there is a belly there, but that's about it. She was one of the most beautiful pregnant women I have ever met! Of course doing a maternity session is always fun, but being pregnant myself, we had a lot to talk about (or commiserate about). Now that I've met them, I can't wait to meet their two little girls!

Abigail & Jonathan's Engagement Pics

Last week, I had the special privilege of photographing Abigail and Jonathan, whose wedding is in June. This was special because I've known both of them, well, pretty much since I can remember. And they've known each other that long as well - and now they're getting married! It's such a sweet story and so neat for these two families to come together. I photographed Jonathan's older sister's wedding back in 2008 - Jenn & Kenny. Now I'm super excited for the second Weber wedding in June!

So you've been checking out my website, and have been a little bored with what you are seeing? Or I shot your wedding in 2009, and you have yet to find yourself on my site? Well, have patience, because I will be updating my website soon!! I was totally blessed to have a jam packed year of weddings and portraits, not to mention a small life change of having a baby. My excuses are poor, I know, but I'm sticking to 'em. I am well aware that things have not changed on my site for quite some time, and like you, I want to see some updates! (Can I just wave a magic wand and it's done?) My goal is to have things updated before March 22 (the due date of baby #2). Then after that, who knows, maybe things won't get updated for TWO years because I'll have TWO kids to chase after..... Guess I gotta start thinking of my excuses now.... :)

Lori & Ed's Wedding

On January 8, I got to be a part of a very special day! My only cousin (yes, that's right- I only have ONE!) got married. Ed and Lori had their ceremony at Faith Bible Church and the reception at the Vintage Club. It was a small, intimate affair, which was a nice change of pace from all the big weddings I've been doing. It was an absolutely gorgeous day - between the bride, the snow, the lights, etc. Lori even braved the elements by heading outside with no coat to do a few pictures with Ed - don't let the pictures fool you - it was FREEZING out. Even I was miserably cold, and I have my own personal heater (the baby, that is)!

It was such an honor to be a part of their day. Congrats, Lori and Ed!! I'm so happy for the two of you!

They did a private foot washing ceremony prior to the wedding. It was beautiful....

P.S. You won't be seeing any weddings posted on my blog for quite some time. This was the last wedding before baby Robbins arrives!! Then I'll be taking some time off from weddings to get adjusted to our new family of four. My first wedding back will be in June! But please keep checking back - I am continuing to shoot portraits and other various projects.

It's here! The first ever annual Favorite Wedding Photo (F.W.P.) competition is now underway! I did not realize how hard it was going to be picking out the pictures, so I ended up with 3 from every wedding. Each wedding was so special to me and it was hard to choose, so I picked photos that just always seemed to stand out to me every time I went back to that wedding. You may disagree with my choices, but hopefully I picked ones that you too will love!

So you're probably wondering what this is (or maybe not), but I don't care, I'm excited about it! As 2009 drew to a close, I started thinking about how awesome this past year was. I had a record amount of weddings in one year, I had amazing clients (which is really true of ALL my years in photography - so this year was no exception!), I was able to work at home full time for the first time, and I did it all while taking care of the sweetest little man on earth! What a great year 2009 was for me and our family!

So with all my excitement about this past year, I thought I'd relive it through a little competition. In the next week or so, I'm going to be picking out my favorite photo from each wedding and allowing you all to vote on them! It's my first ever FAVORITE WEDDING PHOTO COMPETITION! Once I have the photos picked out, it will be up to you (and anyone else you can recruit to vote!) to vote on which one you like the best. I will announce the winner and the winner will receive a special prize! Now for the hard part - I have to go pick out wedding pictures. This is going to be a challenge! Seth's 1st Birthday Party

A few weeks ago, we had a big blowout bash for Seth's first birthday. I had so much fun planning it! We did a sock monkey theme, complete with sock monkey ornaments as favors (it is Christmas time!). It took him a little bit to get into his cake, but once he got going, he loved it. (He is MY son, right?) But our second attempt at the cake went much smoother when we gave him a cupcake the next day without all the people watching. I think it's safe to say my son has inherited my sweet tooth. (Let's just hope you have daddy's metabolism to match it!).

Thank you to all the friends and family who came out to celebrate our little man. We are so blessed by all of you!

Ethan Stoffer is 6 months old!

In case you lost track, my 10th nephew/niece was born in October! Yes, that makes 10 cousins for Seth, and at the rate we're going, it doesn't look like that's the end either. You may remember Landon's birth pictures, which feels like it was only yesterday. But here we are, 6 weeks later with a growing little peanut! I was able to photograph Landon with the rest the Skoog family over Thanksgiving. It was complete chaos, with both the hustle of the holidays and trying to keep 3 kids under the age of 4 contained! But we had a good time, nonetheless, and really, a bad photo can't be taken of these cuties!!

Jaimee & Fred's Wedding Day

I am finally able to get this up on the blog! I've been excited to post this wedding because it was so much fun and so beautiful! Jaimee and Fred were married on Nov. 21. Jaimee was absolutely stunning in her dress and veil, not to mention she was ALL smiles all day long. This couple is so unbelievably happy and in love - it was just so amazing to witness. Her face coming down the aisle, then leaving after the ceremony were just priceless. Her cheeks had to hurt by the end of the day. They had a very large wedding party (about 12 on each side), and amazingly they were all very cooperative and made my job easy! Here are just a few favorites from the day.....

I also want to say a special thanks to my friend Erin Dial for helping my preggo self out that day. Thanks, Erin!

Happy 1st Birthday, Seth!!

One year ago, I got to meet for the first time one of the most special people in my life. I knew my life would be better at that moment, but I had no idea what was in store for me. I can't even begin to describe how wonderful being a mother is and how in love with this tiny person I am! All my life I dreamed of becoming a mother and being able to pour into the life of a child, but there was no way I could imagine how much that child's life would pour into me.

I am so thankful, first off, to my Lord and Savior for giving me such a wonderful and perfect gift in Seth. I am thankful to my husband for being not only an amazing father, but wonderful helper to me as we raise our children together. And lastly, I want to thank Seth for being the most awesome gift ever given to me. He is such a joy to be around and daily teaches me the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am able to love unconditionally this person, who everyday shows me he is not perfect and a sinner. Yet everyday, I am able to love him, forgive him, cherish him, etc. If I, an imperfect human being and sinner myself, am able to come to this kind of love, imagine what the love of the Father is for us. Perfect. AMAZING.

Being 6 months pregnant right now, I'm going to have to cut my post short. I have been an emotional wreck all week thinking about his first birthday and what he means to me and what it has meant to me to watch him grow. And right now is no exception :) I am looking forward to many more years of watching this beautiful boy grow into a man and many more years of him teaching me how great the love of the Father is! Happy 1st Birthday, Seth!

Ok, so I didn't drop off the face of the earth, like you might think. I've just been really busy trying to get in all my holiday orders and such in time for Christmas! And I've been busy trying to plan a stellar 1st birthday party for my birthday boy (I know - you can hardly believe it's been a year. Think about how I feel!)

But I promise, I will start posting again soon! I am in the middle of editing my last wedding of 2009 (yay!) and can't wait to post the images from that beautiful wedding! But, as with everyone else, I'm taking a few days off for the Thanksgiving holiday, so I guess you are all just going to have to wait for those. So in the meantime....

Landon Paul Skoog

I absolutely love shooting weddings. I thought it was my favorite thing to photograph. But I was wrong. Births are by far my favorite thing. There is something so spectacular and so magical about a birth - from seeing the mother's pain change to sheer joy in seconds, when she holds her newborn baby. It's so wonderful!! And I love being able to capture that for people as well. I know, personally, I LOVED having the birth of Seth photographed and will continue to do that for all my children. I will absolutely cherish those pictures forever.

I have so far only done the births of family members (my sister and sister-in-law to be exact). I'm still trying to convince others it's the way to go, but I understand how modesty can take over your desire to want those pictures. To fight the myths of birth pictures, I do not, I repeat, DO NOT photograph anything that would expose you or would embarrass you in any sort of way. It's a completely clean and beautiful display of pictures. I don't do anything x-rated here! :) Really, the birth pictures mainly consist of things that happen post birth - the mother's reaction, weighing the baby, those first few moments with your child, etc....

Anyways, all that to say I got to witness another nephew being born! Landon Paul arrived on Oct. 21 - a whole 9 days early! Jen and Bryan did not know what they were having, so to be in the room and hear "It's a boy!" was very exciting.

Rachel's Senior Pictures

I first met Rachel 2 years ago when I photographed her sister's senior portraits, and now here we are again doing HER senior portraits! Rachel recently got her braces taken off, so her smile was nice and perfect for the shoot. What a feeling of relief that must be for her! She is also a dancer, which explains why she carried herself with such grace and elegance. We did her senior portraits at Ault Park and could not have asked for a more beautiful day. Jonas and Erin's Wedding!!

Finally, I have time to post this beautiful wedding! I'm really slacking on hitting my 2 week time limit. Guess I can't be perfect now that Seth is mobile and takes a lot of my attention!

Anyways, 2 weeks ago, I photographed a GORGEOUS wedding at Laurel Court. This was my second time photographing at this location, and let me tell you, I could photograph there every weekend!! The place is just magnificent! I was overwhelmed by the amount of places I could photograph! Unfortunately we couldn't get to all of them, but that's ok, because Jonas and Erin already have way too many pictures to go through. The wedding had a very vintage feel - from the dress, to the flowers, to the location, everything fit beautifully! Erin was STUNNING, as to be expected :) And Jonas was one of the best grooms I've ever worked with - he even gave the best groom speech at the reception. I was almost in tears myself! And another great thing about this wedding - I get to photograph her sister's wedding next year! I love working with the same families over and over again.

Anyways, as you can tell, I loved this wedding. Yes, I love all my weddings (I am so blessed to work with the couples that I do!), but this had an extra flair that I just loved. I don't know, maybe it's my pregnancy hormones making me all mushy....I just love weddings :) Here are some of my favorites (notice I didn't say "few"? I couldn't narrow them down)....

Penny is a year old!

When I get really busy, one of the first things that gets put off is the blog....So my apologies to those who diligently read my blog and are bored with no new stuff! Trust me, there is plenty to come in the next month or so....

Waiting ever so patiently to be added was a portrait session of my good friends' (Ryan & Alli) daughter, Penny, who recently turned one. We've been trying to get this photo session in for so long, and it finally worked out! We met up at Snider Park in Mason and battled a nice fall chill to get some great shots. Penny was such a sport, but also difficult to keep up with! It's amazing how fast those short little legs can move when a camera is pointed in her direction! Here are a few of my favorites...

Matt & Margot's Wedding

Two weeks ago, Matt and Margot got married at the Glendale Lyceum. It was an absolutely gorgeous (and warm) day. It was a smaller, more intimate wedding, with many fun details. (And you know how I am with details!) The bride wore pink shoes that matched the groom's socks - a detail I just loved. Matt and Margot were so laid back, it made my day stress free! There was a champagne hour BEFORE the ceremony, followed by a short and sweet ceremony, then a cocktail hour, and then of course, the reception. The bride and groom were able to spend so much quality time with their guests - something that unfortunately can't happen as much as we want on our wedding days.

Matt and Margot, thank you so much for allowing me to take part in your beautiful day! You were perfect to work with!!

Jonas and Erin's Engagements

Our BIG announcement

So yeah, this happened....

We could not be more thrilled! I am currently 14 weeks pregnant, due March 30. You may be asking yourself, "Wait, didn't you just have a baby?" Yes, you would be correct. Seth and baby Robbins dos will only be 16 months apart. "Did you plan this?" Sort of. We wanted our peanuts to be close in age (18-24 months apart if possible!), but the Lord had a different plan in mind - and isn't His always perfect? After some fertility struggles with Seth, getting an unexpected blessing was just that - A BLESSING!! Our plan, as of right now, is to not find out the sex. I'm 99.9% sure I do not want to find out, but I have to get through my 20 week ultrasound to say that I'm 100% sure. That's going to be a tough one!

So anyways, that's our big news! Thanks for sharing in this with us! :)

Steve & Maria's wedding

It's finally here! Steve and Maria were married on September 12 at St. Francis de Sales in Hyde Park with a reception following at the Grand in Covington. It was a gorgeous day, with a gorgeous couple. The wedding party had to handle the heat, but they did very well. Maria had an absolutely beautiful gown, one unlike any other I had ever seen. And Steve looked very James Bond-esque with his tux and bow tie - definitely a good looking couple.

The bride and I actually went to high school together. Never in a million years did I think I'd be photographing her wedding back on graduation day! It's amazing how things turn about.... :)

Carrie & Peter's Reception

It's not every day a bride gets to wear her wedding dress twice! Don't we wish we could all do that? For Carrie, this was an option. Carrie and Peter got married down in Jamaica in late August (oh, how I wish I could have photographed that!!). But they wanted to throw a little shindig for their friends and family back home. That's where I come in. I had the privilege of meeting and getting to photograph this couple last weekend (September 11). They had their reception at the Kings Island Courseview Pavilion, right on the golf course.

We spent the first hour roaming the course, dodging golf balls, and getting some awesome shots! I really enjoyed working with this couple! Carrie was such a doll and a dream bride to work with - SHE was the one who suggested to lay on the ground. Pays to wear your wedding dress twice, I guess! If only I could get all brides to lay on the ground! (But brides who won't - don't worry, I'm not mad at you that you don't - I don't think I would have on my wedding day!).

The night went on to hold a normal reception (filled with lots of cute kids!). Here are just a handful that I picked out to show you from the evening....

Jamie & Nick's wedding

A couple weeks ago, Jamie and Nick had their wedding at the Maketewah Country Club. It was a gorgeous day combined with a gorgeous bride. You may recognize Jamie and Nick - both were in previous weddings I shot! (And both of those couples made it into this wedding party).

Both the girls and guys were all dressed in brown - something I had never seen before! But I loved it! Jamie was such a wonderful, laid back bride, who was willing to get her feet dirty for the sake of a good picture. They were so wonderful to work with that it made my job very easy. So my husband informed me the other day that I need to post more stuff on my blog. He is an excellent blogger, so I have a lot to learn from him. Now my blog is used for a different purpose - my business - but that doesn't mean I can't have some fun with it as well! So hopefully you will see a change coming in the next few months of more posts about fun stuff I discover, personal stuff in my life, and of course, more Seth. :) I will do my best to stay true to my promise, because typically, when I'm on the computer, I'm having to spend my time editing and not doing as much personal stuff. I need to make more time for that.
So for starters, I wanted to share this video that my husband posted on his blog that I found fascinating. As a member of Facebook and Twitter, as well as a user of YouTube, Wikipedia, an iPhone, etc, I'm very much a part of this revolution. It kind of makes my head spin, though, thinking about all of this! I'm almost a little nervous about what it's going to be like when Seth is my age! Crazy!

Steve and Maria's engagement session

Last week, I photographed the engagement session of Steve and Maria, whose wedding is coming up in a couple weeks in September! We were under the gun to get these done before the wedding, so thankfully the weather held off and we were able to get them done. We shot them in downtown Loveland, where Steve proposed to Maria. It's such a sweet setting and one very good looking couple. They were troopers, though, battling the extreme August heat. And then we were able to involve their puppies in a few! Cole Bogan - 7 weeks

Last week, my nephew - Cole - turned 7 weeks old. And keeping with the tradition of the two older ones, I did a mini photo session of him at this time. This session was a little more challenging than the ones with the Bogan kids in the past. First off, I brought Seth along for the ride, so he kept me on my toes, crying in the background because I wasn't paying attention to him. Kristin & Ken's wedding

I finally finished the edit of Kristin and Ken's wedding. They were married on July 18 at friend's house on Lake Lorelei. The setting was beautiful - an outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake with the reception just across the yard under a tent. The wedding was nautical themed, and everything was in navy and white. It was simply elegant! And you would think that an outdoor wedding in July would be miserable - but we lucked out. It was in the high 60s all day, with a little rain mixed in. Once the rain stopped, the weather was perfect!

This was my first time meeting Ken, because for the past year, the couple have been living in Singapore. It was so great getting to know Kristin and Ken as a couple - I can totally see the love between them! Thanks for letting me be a part of your day!

Last week I headed out to Greensburg, IN to meet Megan, an upcoming senior. We had a lot of fun doing her senior pictures around a local farm. I must tell you that I am a big fan of using farms for photo shoots. Megan is a very pretty girl, which made photographing her very easy. She also was good at changing quickly, which was great because she had 8 outfits! Here are just a few of my favorites from our time together....

Kevin & Larissa's wedding

On Saturday, I was invited to photograph the wedding of Kevin and Larissa. Kevin is in my bible study, and it was such a treat to meet his bride! They have such a sweet story - Kevin met her while he was in Kazakhstan on a missions trip. She was his team's translator! So needless to say, Larissa is from Kazakhstan, and their whole dating relationship has been across seas. She came over in June, and on July 11, they were married! This couple was so ridiculously romantic with each other, which made my job very easy. I guess that's what happens when you've waited 3 years to be together!

The wedding and reception was at New Life Christian Church in Sharonville. It was a small, intimate affair with only 20 guests. The big party happened Sunday night, where they had a big picnic and cornhole. It was a fun evening as well! They asked me to have a slideshow ready for the event Sunday night. It's amazing how fast I can work when there is a deadline involved!

Last week, I met up with Matt and Margot at Pyramid Hill - an outdoor museum. I can definitely say this location was a first for me! It's a really neat park, with very unique sculptures placed all over. It was a lot of fun shooting not only at this park, but with this couple as well.

Last weekend, I traveled to Carlisle, PA to photograph the wedding of Eric and Jill. You may remember this couple from their engagement shoot in San Francisco. Yes, they flew me out for both events! It's a rough life being a photographer!

Anyways, I can't say enough great things about this couple! We had a wonderful day, a beautiful location (Carlisle has so much charm!), and surprisingly good weather (at least during picture taking time). Jill had one of the most unique dresses I've ever seen, and it was stunning on her. And, if you know me at all, you know I freaked out over this - she had hot pink shoes. Love it. (Don't worry - my foot fetish does not go beyond picture taking)

Scott & Courtney's Wedding

Very rarely do I get out of Cincinnati to shoot a wedding, and when I do, it's such a treat! It's so much fun getting to go to new places and shooting new locations. Scott and Courtney invited me to do their wedding down in Chattanooga - and you know I always love a free trip to Tennessee! Go Vols! (ok, you knew that was coming)

Anyways, I had a blast with this couple and their wedding party. The church was gorgeous with unique architecture. And after the ceremony, I got to take a romantic horse and carriage ride with the couple. :) We were able to hop on and off the carriage (very carefully, I might add. That horse was jumpy!) around downtown Chattanooga. It was a really great day! Here are some pictures to prove it....

And this had to be the most interesting garter experience I've ever seen...

Cole Matthew Bogan

Anna had her baby! Cole Matthew Bogan arrived on June 2 at 6:42 pm, weighing 7lbs 11oz and 20.5 in long, with a FULL head of black hair- very much like his brother Baron. I was very fortunate to be a part of the birth and take pictures. It's so amazing to watch a childbirth, especially after going through one myself! It's nice not being the one going through the labor :) Sorry, Anna, I did not envy you :)

Cole makes cousin #9 for Seth - he is one lucky kid! We are so excited for the Bogan family! Congratulations! We love you all!!

Anna's "Trash the Belly" Shoot

You all have heard of a "Trash the Dress" shoot where you take pictures trashing your wedding dress.....well, this is a "Trash the Belly" shoot....

My sister, Anna, is due any day now with her third child. We, of course, had to do some maternity shots before this baby arrives. Her idea (and yes, it was hers - I'm so proud of her creativity!) was to let Baron (3) and Malea (1.5) paint her belly. Not only was it a fun project/craft for the kids, but it was hysterical to watch. I'm pretty sure this shoot convinced Cole (baby on the way) to stay inside his momma's belly a little longer - I'd be terrified to come out, too, after that!

As promised, here is the wedding of Diana and Nolan. It was a beautiful day for pictures (despite what the weathermen said) and I had a beautiful couple to photograph. Diana looked gorgeous in her short veil. It's little touches like that that allow me to fall in love with weddings every time I shoot one! I'm a sucker for the details!

The reception was a great party. Nolan and I went to college together, so needless to say, "Rocky Top" was played. It takes everything in me not to break down in a hoe-down when that song comes on! Anyways, I had a great day! Thank you, Nolan and Diana, for allowing me to be there!

Some of you may have noticed this already, but I'm changing online hosting sites for ordering pictures. After being with Pictage for over 2 years, I am making a business decision to switch to PhotoBiz. After careful consideration and a closer look at my expenses, this is definitely a more practical switch. Pictage has been good to me over the years, but some good things come out of the switch....

1. I now except credit cards for everything (not just print orders). I can take credit cards for wedding packages, session fees, products, etc. Before, I was limited to just print orders because Pictage would process the credit card payments for me.

2. I can individually touch up all orders. With Pictage, once I uploaded to the site, my work was done. All orders were printed off my upload and sent directly to my clients. While that is a very nice service (a sort of "set it and forget it" mindset), I like being hands on with my orders so that each and every photo ordered looks it's absolute best. You may be thinking, doesn't this add to your work load? The answer is yes, but I think it's work that is totally worth my time. I hope you are satisfied with that as well!

3. There is now a lower shipping cost. Some of the shipping could cost up to $15 through Pictage! Now, it's just a flat rate of $7 - you can't beat that!

4. You can now buy gift cards! On PhotoBiz, I am able to set it up so you can buy a gift card for someone to use on their order. If you want a customized card or note to send via email to them, let me know and I can design one for you!

4. Are you having problems with the site or ordering? You can now call me or email me directly and we'll take care of the problem and get your stuff ordered. Pictage was a monster all on it's own, so if there were problems, it didn't have to do with me. Then I felt helpless on the client's behalf because I couldn't do anything to fix it except give them Pictage's customer service number!

Pictage is a great service and a great lab. They have a lot of wonderful products and take a lot of time out of ordering for the photographers. However, I am just in need of a change and I want a more hands-on approach to my ordering. I hope you all are happy with the switch and would love feedback on the new site! You can email all questions, comments, and concerns to leah@leahrobbins.com. Also, once I officially cancel my Pictage service, you will no longer be able to access your photos through that site. I would be happy to put your event up on Photobiz, but you will no longer have access to any of the folders you created on Pictage. I suggest writing down your favorites or anything like that if you want them saved.

The Huff Families

Last week was a really busy week for me. Not only was I finishing up a wedding, but I had three photo shoots on top of that!

My first shoot was of the Huff family. You may remember Jenny, Eddie and Ben from Ben's newborn shoot back in October. Jenny asked me to come and photograph her family, along with her two brothers and their kids as a gift to their parents. Of course I was honored they wanted me to do the shoot. I had the privilege of shooting Mike and Caitlin's wedding on April 4. It was an absolutely gorgeous April day for their wedding. Mike is a Marine, so he was decked out in uniform, and the couple left the sanctuary through a sword detail - the first one I had ever seen! It was so neat! There were many marines at this wedding, which the D.J. honored at one point during the reception. It was a very proud moment.

Mike and Caitlin were also so sweet with each other. Quite a few times, I saw tears from either one or both of them. It was a very romantic day filled with a lot of love. Here are a few of my favorites...

Well, I guess you can say I am officially back from maternity leave! I kicked off my wedding season with Eric and Jessica's wedding this past weekend. What a great wedding to get my feet wet again! The locations were gorgeous, the bride was stunning, the weather totally cooperated - all was perfect! What was supposed to be a day filled with thunderstorms turned into a day filled with sunshine. The Lord answered everyone's prayers! I had my good friend, Erin, assisting me during the day, and as always, she was awesome to work with - thanks Erin!

Last weekend, one of my closest friends and old college roommates came up from Nashville with her husband to visit Matthew, Seth and I. It was such a joy to see Nikki again - and such a blessing to be able to visit and introduce our newest addition to them! During their stay here, we spent a lot of time reminiscing (which I'm sure our husbands loved), eating Cincinnati food (you just have to eat Montgomery Inn and Graeter's while you're here!), and shopping at Ikea. Valentine's Day surprise

So I don't think I need to tell you how awesome my husband is, but I will anyways. He always does such a good job at showing me how much he loves me, and this Valentine's Day was no exception. I received a bouquet of 18 long stem red roses at our front door just before V-Day. Not only was it a great surprise because it was early, but also because of how beautiful they were!

Oh, and I'll give a little plug for the company he buys them from....He always gets me flowers from proflowers.com because they last for weeks! The bouquets come in bud form, and they bloom after you get them, which enables you to enjoy them so much longer. So, men, take notes!

Ok, so I was a little off on my new site launching....The hosting company is a little behind in getting it up, but it should be very soon!

If you have tried to access my webpage (www.leahrobbins.com), you have probably noticed that it's down. In all actuality, my old site still exists - it's parked at www.lcrobbins.com. If you've ever noticed that when you typed in leahrobbins.com, lcrobbins.com was actually what pulled up. For some strange reason, when I started my business, I started it as LC Robbins Photography, not Leah Robbins Photography. But once I got everything set up (including my website), I changed it, but I never moved my site from www.lcrobbins.com. But the good news is that when my new site is up, it will ACTUALLY be at www.leahrobbins.com - imagine that! :) So you can get rid of the lcrobbins.com and move on to the new and improved leahrobbins.com (Good bye, first website! You were good to us and we will miss you!)

I will post on here as soon as the new site is officially up.... (And that better be soon, hosting company!)

Seth's birth

I know I'm a little behind in posting this, but I've been a little busy lately. At Seth's birth, we had Laura Leppert Knabe of Leppert Photography present to photograph this wonderful event. And man, am I glad we had her there!! Not only do I have Seth's birth documented, but she did a fantastic job at capturing the overwhelming joy (and relief after 24 hrs of labor) we all felt at his arrival!! Present at the birth was Matthew, Laura, my mom, and Matthew's mom.

So I hope everyone can understand why my blog has been so neglected recently. Between becoming the mother of the most wonderful kid ever and Christmas, I just had more important things to do. But now that things are starting to die down, I'd love to show just a little more of my sweet little man! I've taken a few pictures of my own, and plan on taking tons more (obviously), and my sister-in-law, Diana, did some newborn pics as well. You can see those pictures on her blog. She's amazing, as always!

I've taken just a few pictures of our precious little man, as you might have imagined :) But since I've been so behind on posting, I only have time to share just a few... There will be more to come! I just can't believe how much he as grown already!!

With the soon arrival of Baby Robbins, Matthew and I felt added pressure to get all our Christmas decorations up! Even though every year we always put our tree up the weekend of Thanksgiving, we were afraid that we may not even make it to that weekend to get our tree and decorate it! Well, apparently I'm not one of the lucky ones who gets to have their baby super early, so we had plenty of time. :) I absolutely love this time of year, and to now get to have the anticipation of not only Christmas, but a new baby, is incredibly exciting!! Since I tend to forget to take pictures of things going on in OUR lives (I know, it's pathetic - occupational hazard), I decided to document some of the Christmas decorations...

It was fun hanging 3 stockings....one for each member of our growing family!!

Some new ornaments I'm excited about - the 12 days of Christmas...

And for the tree this year, we had plenty of new ornaments to work with. Matthew and I have started a tradition that any time we take a trip, we get an ornament from that place. This year was a busy year for us, because we had lots of new ornaments - San Francisco, Las Vegas, Virginia Beach, and the Carnival Cruise, just to name a few!

A couple weeks ago I shot my final wedding of the year, and what a good one it was to go out on! Not only was it in the fall (my favorite season) with fall colors, but it was with a fantastic couple. This was my first time photographing Leigh and Jessup, since we didn't do engagement pictures. That can always be a tricky thing because they aren't used to how I work, and I don't know them as a couple. But it didn't matter with these two - they were amazing to work with!

The whole wedding was done up in Oxford, during Miami's homecoming, which was definitely an adventure. I also had my great photographer friend, Erin, join me to help out, seeing as though I'm 9 months pregnant. (Thanks, Erin, for your help!)

All around it was a beautiful wedding! Here are some pictures to prove it.....

Last weekend, I shot my last wedding of the year (last wedding before the baby comes!!). I am very excited to get these edited and posted for you, but in the meantime, here is a little teaser....

The Nursery: Phase 2

Matthew and I have been working hard on the nursery, preparing for our little man to arrive! There's still more decorating to be done, but most of that can't be done until he's here. It's really hard to put pictures up of a baby that's not even here yet! I don't think he'll mind if his walls are a little bare to start. But anyways, I thought I would take some pictures of the room to show it's progress.....

When looking for my bedding, I came across Restoration Hardware's new baby and child line. When I saw these hat boxes, I decided I wanted the bedding to match them. I know, who really picks baby bedding based on hat boxes? Yeah, I do.

But not only are they cute, they are functional!

This boy already has so many toys!

A damask frame I found that goes along with all the other damask print in the room... again, I need a baby in order to fill it with pictures.

We received this cute "r" monogram from a friend of ours. I've also ordered his whole name so I can put that on one of the walls, but obviously I'm not going to show that yet, sorry! :)

I was so excited to come home today because I knew what would be waiting for me - our canvas gallery wrap for the baby's room!! My amazing sister-in-law, Diana (www.dianasimpson.com), took this maternity photo of us, and I thought it was only appropriate to put it in the nursery! The verse I added to it is 1 Samuel 1:27 "For this child I prayed..." I can't wait to hang it in the room! Thanks, Diana, for the awesome photo!!

The Hamann Family

This week I was able to meet up with the Hamann kids to do some pictures for their dad. It was a fun shoot - Jennifer and I were good friends in high school (and still are). Baby gifts

I have received (or should I say baby Robbins has received) so many wonderful gifts the past few months. This is a truly blessed child, and I want to thank everyone who has so graciously given their love and support to Matthew and I as we venture into parenthood! I need to start photographing all the wonderful things people are giving us, but I haven't gotten around to that yet, except for the latest gift. My sweet friend, Sarah, got us a onesie from Oley Designs (www.oleydesigns.com) that is handmade with a little lion and baby boy's name on it. It was so much fun getting that gift in the mail - to finally have something with his name on it! It was so exciting and made it very real for Matthew and I! Now, Susan (with Oley Designs), is sworn to secrecy on his name, so don't be trying to sneak it out of her! :) And we have this onesie now hidden, so don't be snoopin' around his nursery either! :) But I had to take a picture with my new little man's outfit....and yes, I covered his name - that black box does not exist on the actual outift....

Last weekend, I traveled to Greensburg, IN to photograph the son of Andrew & Darci, who you may remember from my July 12 wedding. Matthew was so good at the wedding, I knew he would be great for this shoot as well! I also had the opportunity to shoot his new cousins, Will and Clara. Their ages were 5, 3, and 8 months and were sportin' their Purdue outfits well. I'm sure they made their parents proud in their black and gold, even though I was trying to teach Matthew to say "Go Vols!". :) Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot...

My 100th post!!

So it just dawned on me the other day - I am finally up to 100 posts! As I realized this the other day, part of me was like, 'Wow, I've written 100 posts!' and the other part of me was like, 'Why did it take me so long to write 100 posts?' Even though my posts can come few and far between, I have really enjoyed writing on my blog, and I certainly hope that you've enjoyed reading it! This next year's posts will probably change a bit as baby Robbins joins the family and my time will be spent with him (and taking pictures of him!) But I have a lot of fun weddings coming up as well that I look forward to sharing with you!

Benjamin Meiners

Last week, I was able to spend some time with Eddie and Jenny and their newborn son, Benjamin. Ben was born a month early, so he was a itty-bitty little thing, and cute as can be! He woke up right after I got there, and stayed up the whole shoot, which was very unusual for newborns, but I bet he slept well for Eddie and Jenny that night! (Or at least I hope so!)
