The Samad Family

I was blessed to have the opportunity to photograph the Samad family on Saturday. They welcomed me into their home and made me feel as though I was part of the family! We had so much fun together, and they even put up with all my crazy ideas! They stood in the cold, held umbrellas, piled on top of each other, walked and talked - you name it, they did it! They were such troopers and I am very pleased with their pictures! You can sneak a peak at a few of them here, and see more on their slideshow at www.lcrobbins.com/slideshows/samadfamily.

Thank you, Samad family, for welcoming me into your home. You are in my prayers and may you hold onto every moment.

2 Corinthians 4:17
For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparisonwhile we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

A night out...

So Matthew and I ventured out for a long night out for the first time in a looooong time. We had dinner with some good friends of ours at Pomodori's in Clifton (best wood fired pizza ever!), then headed over to hear our very talented good friend, Adam Wilson, play at the Rohs Street Cafe. It was a great time of food and fellowship and great music. I have to give a shout out to Adam, because if you didn't already know this, he's the music on my website. :) This night out really made me think back to my college days when I refused to go to bed before midnight, and it also made me realize just how old I am. I'm not the same young wipper-snapper I used to be :) Other than being totally exhausted, we had a wonderful evening - one that I will remember for quite awhile because it will probably be the only late night out for awhile. We'll think back and say, "Hey, remember that night we all went out and stayed out late? Yeah, that was fun." Good times.

Kendra & John

On December 29, I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of my old high school friend, Kendra, and her now-husband John. It was very different from all other weddings I've done - there were only about 30 people there! It was held in her parents' home, with the ceremony upstairs and the reception downstairs. Just because it was a small wedding doesn't mean it wasn't a beautiful elegant wedding - it was just the opposite! They had done such a beautiful job with the home and all the details - including the gourmet meal cooked by the groom and family! Kendra and John were even so kind as to go outside in the freezing cold! And I want to thank my sister-in-law Diana for helping me out for this wedding!

It's a new year!

So this is my first post of 2008 - only a couple weeks late, but hey, better late than never, right? I am super excited for what this year brings! More weddings, more great couples to get to know, some trips, etc! 2008 also starts the first full year that I am completely on my own as Leah Robbins Photography (no bank job to keep me busy!). I am super excited about this opportunity to grow my business and spend more time focused on clients, our relationships, and just getting things done! Hey, maybe for once I'll post a blog entry soon after the event! That can be my New Year's resolution.

Speaking of late posts, stay tuned for favorites from my most recent wedding - John & Kendra - who got married on Dec. 29. They will be up soon!

With the new year, I will be offering new products - canvas gallery wraps, engagement guest books, wallet books, 4x6 albums, and so much more! When I get a chance, I will take some pictures of these products so that you can see them and have reference to them. I recently designed an engagement guest book that will be printed in the near future, which I am super excited about (as you should be too! They're fantastic!). The design is posted online at www.lcrobbins.com/slideshows/guestbooksample. I want to thank Beth & Patrick for allowing me to use your engagement session as my sample, and for being such a great couple that gave me many great pictures to use!

Anyways, thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog. I truly do appreciate it and hope that I can keep it updated for you frequently! Be on the lookout for John & Kendra's wedding!
